    Marketing

Sorry to bore you people with a marketing subject but I see yellow peas approaching $10 and September 2016 approaching $9.

Hopefully yellows drag greens up with them!

Is $10.00/bushel a profitable price for peas?
If yes, do you sell at $9.85/bushel or $10.12/bushel? Do you sel them all or sell incrementally on rallies?

Thanks for the tip Crusher. What varieties do you like and who do favour to sell to?

Meadows work okay for us. May try to get a seed lot of Amarillos (sp?). Richardson, Viterra and Cargill all have competitive bids from time to time.

Current pea prices are the highest of my extended life time. Sold some at $7.90 last winter. Sold some a couple of weeks ago for $9.50. Cleaning the rest for seed.

I believe I read on here that Amardillo are the best for straight cutting with best standability.
(SF3 and Furrow might have mentioned this?)

                $9/ bushel x 50 bpa = $450 / acre off combine in September

It would be nice to see large acres of peas seeded.

That's like $14 canola , $8.50 wheat - if you are waiting for more you are retarded

even with my contracted stuff at 7.50 and 7.80. it will be best paying crop this year. your right furrow .figure my seed needs out and the rest should be sold.
contracted a little for next fall
after i swore i would not do that again.
