Agree parts have gone retarded. All 3 canvas for jd 936D $4700. Laughed and said that was retarded and I wasn't paying g that. It was preseason so I had a few weeks to wait. Long story short WCCO which is the same belts jd was selling me found a dealer to sell them to me for $2500. WCCO didn't like the price either cause it pulls people to otyer companies belts if it's too costly. Same header $5000 wobble box. Not replacement t parts. Found all bearings and seals to rebuild it for $1000. This was a few years ago and again was off season so could wait a few weeks. They ass **** you for the convenience of having it "tomorrow"

Where are those parts being manufactured?
In canada? Not many most are from countries where we are supposed to get things cheap from. But we don't and why is that. Because he whole problem with let's get something made somewhere cheaper is that those in control don't pass the cheaper on to us.

          I agree.

We needed an orange lens for our header safety lights... and CaseIH wanted $28...
Comrades our parts guys in Hardesty found the same lens for $3.
Mother Corp JD would only sell the whole light for $38.

                On this topic,
I need a new hazard flasher switch for my NH CR960. So go to the dealer. It's $300.....!!!
and oh btw, you will need the adaptor harness because the original is discontinued. (It's literally 12 wires 6 inches long with a connector on either end) get this....another $300, for a grand total over $600!!
CNH is on drugs, its not just over priced, it's insulting.

I told the local parts lady to Google it.

She did and it was $9.

Said if she got it off E-bay she would get fired.

                  Jay-mo... GOOGLE THE PART NUMBER.

It is amazing that old discontinued parts are usually made in China at cheap prices. And they ship direct by mail for next to nothing.

The Feeder house chain on STS Deeres are 3 chain/rail till 2015.

2015 4 chain/rail ... have EXACTLY the same chains... but 4 rails. $2300 for 2015 feeder house chain. $2700 for older up to 2014... for 25 percent less chain. JD said it was impossible to upgrade. RIGHT. My mechanic smiled and we WILL upgrade later.

We will spend a little time and convert our machines to 4 rail chains this winter. Innards on feeder house floor need conversion... but front drum is fine. Back shaft the same... except 4 sprockets instead of 3.

We can take old 3 rail chains... and even change them up. Main slats are EXACTLY the same as well. And of course JD refuses to sell just the chain/rail by itself.

Don't you ever get tired of being treated like a fool?

I realize parts prices are set by the parent company but just think of all the dealer consolidation that has gone on in the last few years. In equipment sales, you can't even shop one dealer against another because they have consolidated into huge sales areas, then there is the selling into another dealer's "territory" rules... **** Off!!!

Being cynical is tiring and disheartening but for **** sakes give us something not to be cynical about.

I'm tired of being the "Host" to the "Parasite Party"!!! Maybe it's time for some of the other Industry players to become more efficient and trim some of the fat or dead weight in their operations and see if they can maintain the same level of service and productivity like we have to at times. You just can't keep ratcheting up prices with out any resistance.

Service calls, do I get paid from the minute I leave my farm till the time I get home when I go for repairs? AND get to charge milage? Who would pay for it?
