    Viterra Wheat

So for 3 red or feed they now require a falling numbers test. But not for a 1 or 2. Those go off of color regular grading.

Sounds like they are trying to find downgrade excuses again

That is pure bullshit. They want it so they know if the can bend you over for low grades and turn around and mill it.

If your 3 wht has good numbers they will bin it separate from the other 3 or feed just so they can mill it.

Isn't this kind of what we've been asking for. If the lower weather damaged grades are suspect, this "real" test tells the true story. Not this visual bullshit. If it's grading one or two based on visual it is highly unlikely it isn't weathered to the point early enzyme activity.

The numbers won't lie and if you're concerned have the test done yourself by a certified independant third party.

          That's my point jwab.

Protein falling# bushel weight. Far better than heat they are doing around here downgrading to a 3 on heat stress.

Subject to grade and dockage from CGC. You have that right.

If there is a shortage of milling wheat... they will pay up. Falling number equivalents have been in #3 CWRS forever... but done by sprout or midge damage visually... instead of actual falling number.

If this is a contract change in presold then an issue if downgrade discounts price... which is NOT what I see here... only binning separate... which we would all do... if it were our grain to market!

Companies I deal with do falling numbers on #1 and #2. Falling numbers can go down if wheat comes off damp and is dried down with air. Sprouts are not visible in this case, but the kernels are effected inside by the grain coming off damp and long periods of drying down.

Color is not a big grading factor for #1 and 2# as it was in the past.

Hey it's a wide open market now, you should be able to find a buyer that suits your needs.

                  Do your homework!!!!

Can someone remind me why we grow milling wheat?
