    UPOV 91

When is the time going to be right for farmers and
our associations to push ahead on UPOV 91?
Many of us can see it coming but are concerned
that activist opponents will stir up political
opposition if or when government tries to push it
    through.
Is it too soon for us to press government to move
    ahead?

Pretty sad when Canada is one of only three developed
countries not to sign on to the 91 version. New
Zealand and Italy being the others. Even a lot of
    developing countries have signed on.

Don't expect much investment in crops until its
      passed.
Remember to call your MPs so they get an
opposing opinion other than the urban rent a
      round that normally shows up!

Can you give a synopsis of what this is
and what it means for us. I have never
heard of it before now. So if it is
important it is sure being kept quiet.

This is the first I've read about UPOV 91?

Can someone provide a "Coles notes" summary
          on this?

Just another scheme to extend royalty fees for an extra two years.

You can be sure that our "Gerry" will be screwing the farmers some more.

I'm with the FUA on this one.
