    Dear Charlie,

    I think one thing is clear:

    If anyone has MORE than 100K on deposit... CDIC, US,
    and EU deposit insurance means that part of our
    currency assets are safe... anything more is vulnerable.

    Makes logical sense.

      Still on holidays so haven't been
      following closely. I will comment that I
      have had access to Internet right across
      argentina even not always high speed. I
      was able to read the Edmonton Journal
      with morning coffee just like at home.
      We are truly globally connected.
      Interesting being in a country with an
      official exchange of 5 pesos to a US
      dollar, a tourist rate of 6 and a street
      rate of 8 or better. Significant
      difference between the government view
      of reality and what is happening.

              Interesting times Charlie,

              If the Russians hadn't killed off
              millions of farmers in the Ukraine in
              the 30's... There would have been a
              grain shortage... And no depression
              then.

              Cell phones and Internet have changed
              much... Shrunken the world no doubt.
