sent to me by a happy farmer in canada

Wheat futures prices have declined $2.50
per bushel and cash prices have declined
$1. The $1.50 difference in price is due
to a better basis and a lower Canadian
    dollar.
We have an open market and it has been
working as well as anyone could have
    hoped for. The $40-per-tonne improvement
in basis levels since harvest is an
indication of strong export demand and
    year-to-date producer deliveries are two
per cent ahead of last year.

      Is he smokinganything? :-))

Most of the year in my area of Sask. anyways the price has been determined by local feed prices. In my opinion the export market has been a bit in turmoil. Bunge who never took delivery of hard red before wants it now today.

malleefarmer: Our current wholly government controlled CWB is for sale...perhaps you might be interested in buying it. Its a turn-key operation...just bring some money and its yours.

I miss the Alberta Wheat Pool more than the old CWB...we as producers had ownership and it served us in our interest for the most part. At least we had some input into its operation. Pretty hard to influence the furinners who are now in the driver's seat.
