What's wrong with the most of us? We seem almost ashamed of our country, when we should be proud of the good things we have going for us here in Canada. Yes we could stand improving lots of things but as a whole could be a lot worse off. We tend to make fun of the most patriotic individuals such as Don Cherry or the departed Tom Connors, instead we should applaud them. We will all miss Tom.

I absolutely agree we are much better off than 95% of the planet. But when it comes to patriotism I'd rather be in the quietly proud camp, than with the mindless drones shouting, you ess eh, you ess eh, you ess eh!!!! Which gets rather annoying after about a second.
Having said that, I think Tom and Don are great Canadians and should be as vocal as they feel they need (needed) to be, but don't push me up on the stage with them. -

the lists!
I would even add... political folks like AB's own Danielle
Smith... prove there are people who operate on
principal [under her leadership]... instead of political
expedience.
