Wouldn't many of our natural resources be as good as gold, or even better?

Whoops, got it off a blog that tracks him,ASSumed it
        was new.

        Still as import today.

Our resources only represent a small fraction of gdp.

Only a nationalization could represent a sort of
backing, that will never happen,so i dont know how
the chips will fall on the canadian dollar if the world
descides to stabilize the currency problems through
        tangibles.

We have an educated and capable work force. Who needs gold or tangibles to back our currency? We have productive capabilities untold and the resources as well...but IT IS CHEAPER TO IMPORT WHAT WE NEED so we do it. Corporate smarts is what we lack and a government which looks after Canadian interests FIRST and FOREMOST.
