What I find amusing in the current kerfluffle in DC is that both sides agreed to these cuts. Actually the same participants agreed to them, Pelosi, Reid and Obama. So what's the problem? If you didn't want them you shouldn't have signed on.

The only good thing Jean the Cretin ever did for Canada was give Paul Martin his way with finance. But that alone probably made putting up with the old SOB worthwhile.

      Don't get me wrong here, I like Sask3. Sure he's a braggart
sometimes but his post are thought-provoking and useful. I
think my point is a whole lot of us posting and among those
lurking aren't qualified in the least to be CEO, CFO and C-
everyotherletter-O of multi-million dollar businesses. Sure
we grew up on a farm and can back up a tractor like a pro but
the only qualifications to manage the millions we do now
seems to be mostly having a dad who did it before us.

I see a few farmers making horrendous decisions and wonder
what the heck they are thinking. Business decisions that
would put most small corps bankrupt. Then I think 'Well I
guess he's just a farm kid with a rich dad after all."

Ag degrees are almost worthless, hire three different
agronomists for three years and after that nobody needs to
tell you how to raise a crop anymore. Farm kids need more
      business education.

        Tucker,
Not sure on that one. If I had been sharper on
business in the '90's I would have known I was
mathematically eliminated from farming and gone
        elsewhere to make a living.
I remember cleaning grain at a neighbours around
1994. He was 15 yrs older than me and his advice
was, don't figure it out too much, it will scare you.
It is a different era, with these high prices, profits
are really helpful. I think I am much smarter when
there are profits! I really didn't care for 10 years
of razor thin margins. It has made me very short
        sighted, defensive and skeptical.

Lol,"dont figure it out to much",amen to that.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not,
and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall
          be forgiven: / Give, and it shall be given unto you;
good measure, pressed down, and shaken together,
and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall
          be measured to you again.”

Small potatoes, who cares, but wow, opportunity
knocks. Maybe SF3 can pay me to
            spell/grammar check for him.

The problem exists everywhere. It does bug me
to see these grammar problems in the
newspaper. The newswriters are paid to be
            perfect, we are not.

Why dont a bunch of us each throw 20K in a pot,
and buy a mass of real estate and houses on
              some hot island? pars

Tucker, You would be surprised how many
farmers own and operate million dollar
operations. A lot of farmers have a healthy net
worth; often those you'd least expect. Sask3 talks
big numbers and equipment because he IS big
numbers and equipment. I'm pleased when
farmers are successful. It means out land is
                valued higher.farmers are a wonderfully
productive lot of society. Celebrate it! Let's be
positive about success; a dandy spring resolution
                to make .Pars

Hey guys, I'm sitting down here at the Weston on
7!mile beach, storm is brewing outside so it got
me thinking. We're all small potatoes. Looking at
                  a real estate magazine, wow!
Lots of homes in the 3.9 to 13 to highest at 39.9.
Or 206 acres at 2.2 mill. Our land is cheap back
                  home.
Oh we'll few more days then back to work,
cleaners will be working overtime! Cheers having
                  a Caybrew!
