    What happened to Barrick Gold??

Yikes been checking stock prices and have not really been watching Barrick or any gold stocks lately. Barricks price is 1.38 times 10 years ago, sucks even with the pitiful dividend if you can even call it one hardly pays for HGU's maintenance fee. Gold is 4.8 times 10 years ago price. Barrick is even showing a negative earnings. what is up with this stock? Some sort of accounting glitch?

The gold companies are having to process lower and lower grades of ore increasing their costs.
Large golds also increase reserves by buying junior so that has increased in cost. Lastly gold
mines in unstable jurisdiction has also added to uncertainty which added up means that miner
    share prices have struggled.

Barrick bought a copper mine a few years ago when copper was around $7.00/lb. I'm pretty sure they did a huge write-down on that project in 2012, and that would show up on their balance sheet.Amost all gold stocks hav taken a real beating the last couple of years. And ya, barricks dividend is poor.Still a strong company though.

I've been a holder of Yamana. It's been okay, just lucky.

Sold Yamana and Argonot just before they run up. So my luck you don't want. I understand increase cost to mine gold so not really sure about the use of gold for currency theory.

It is a known generalization among speculators that
the commodities themselves are out performing the
              companies.

Barrick is a ***** who continuously sold her wares
way out into the future to help suppress the price.

She is one of the least like ****s among gold bugs.

Gold has been the ultimate form of payment for 5000
              years.
