Oats! How Low will the Acres Go!

Just reading Ag canadas guesses on acreage and it seems us farmers are pissed at oats prices.
Buyers play a game and that's what happens when their is only a few buyers in the market. BS.
Oats hovers around 2.80 to 3.50 and never ever goes higher.
They buy from hand to mouth.
Well I think their in for a surprise as farmers decide to cut their oats acreage big time.
If you don't pay for it you don't get it.

in 2012 2854 acres and projected 2013 2595 or a 9 percent drop. I think it will be 19% drop! unless it gets late and wet.

What about Scandinavia, have their acres increased that much to off-set N.A. What about the FSU, they seem to be throwing the wrench in on alot of crops, now that they don't grow wall to wall wheat.

SF3. If I trust my memory, weren't you saying the exact same thing about Oats at about this time last year?

Don't worry, one of these years (or decades) it will come true ;-)

Oats could be a sleeper this year.
Acreage is once again going to decrease in the U.S. and around 10% lower here. Question is it worth taking the risk when you today can pencil out wheat make the same as oats?

Coleville I said their is a problem to few buyers and oats get it in the ass. Flooding the last few years leaves guys with little to plant. So oats goes in and you have supply.

We're going to have 220 acres of oats this year... low inputs, low risk.

110 acres of peas, 400ac of canola, 260ac barley, 155 wheat.

(yes... we have more land )

I think that is all the more reason to grow oats.
A contradiction to wheat and canola. This year
so far looks tough competition vs wheat and
canola but i do not recall ever losing money
growing oats. Pretty small profits sometimes but
still profit. The new wheat market is pretty fun
and a person can actually calculate an end
result. Its going to get interesting. Keep an eye
                    on oats for sure.

$4 new crop oats would be a game changer but can't see it happening.
