Canola futures takeoff and my local
basis goes negative. Ahh such is life.

March couldnt push through $621 today. My best
guess is that this latest run has bought a lot of
canola an that this current run has run out of gas.
If the dryness continues in the u.s., look out.

Oops, I'm 90% sold as of today. Guess it's next year
country for canola for me now. $13.80 avg 2012/13.
I can sleep on that.......... maybe!!! Still have 60% of
my wheat though. Come on corn disaster!!!

Wife and I were in WalMart the other night. Canadian Canola oil has very little allotment on the shelf. Lots of sunflower and corn oil on the shelf and "vegetable oil blends". We best be careful how far up the price of canola goes before the consumer won't have it buy (at WalMart anyway).

Hey daylate how was your yield? Do you need help managing all that money? My average is only 12.95 so far at the 50 percent sold mark of a 25 bushel crop. Really looking forward to next year here. Its so great going away on holidays and watch the price go up. And holly crap is there snow north of PA. Now have to go get some winter tires for the truck and do some more playing, need them up there. If PA gets another foot of snow that city is gonna in trouble.

29bu. So that puts us at 400/ac., which was what
we agreed to at Christmas after watching most of
the14 plus slip away this fall. We started at $12
(15%) this time last year, that takes a lot to average
out of. $15 might be hard to watch now, lol!!! But
then again maybe I could start next year at $13. Ya
that makes me feel better.
