    Gene VI

    Ringee, ring, ring.

    wdee: "Hello"

    Franee: "Hi, wdee, howya doin'?"

wdee: "Selling seed like crazy. Makin' money
hand over fist on this new variety."

    Franee : "How's the kids?"

wdee: "They're doing fine. Been down with the
Gene VI virus for only 8 months now, but I'm not
worried. They'll be back in school by next year."

Franee: "Of course they will. Anyone who doesn't
believe in the science we use are really
backwards. Just calling to tell you there is a
VirusVI Conference coming up. Need everyone
there. I'll send you the Gene VI material."

    wdee: I'll be there.

"This is because there are clear indications that this viral gene (called Gene VI) might not be safe for human consumption. It also may disturb the normal functioning of crops, including their natural pest resistance."

"MIGHT not be safe for human consumption"

"MAY disturb the normal functioning of crops, including their natural pest resistance."

          Lots of hypothetical GUESSES.

Not all web sites provide reliable information...some are purposely designed for the "conspiracy prone".

Good of you to post this Parsely. I'm so
                afraid now.

"There is no current data to suggest
this function has any implications for
                biosafety"

The loom burners are hard at work as the
                inevitable approaches.

Gene splicing often uses a virus as the vector for inserting then new genes. I didn't see that mentioned in the editorial.
