    ADM and Cargill

    Will not offer new crop pricing in the U.S. only Basis. Risk is too great. Also hedge funds margin calls are getting out of hand, they might pull in their horns, causing a short term sell-off.

    that doesn't make sense.

    if hedge funds are getting margin calls, they having losing positions. If, as you suggest, they are long, they wouldn't be getting margin calls.

    If they're short, and need to cover, that's a different story - and they would be in to buy, not sell.

        Sorry, should have been 09 beans. Still contracting this years crop. Apparently they re-evaluating costs of forward contracting.
