PMRA and Crop Life and Farm Organizations got us again!

Here is my end of year price for a generic Roundup 41 % with surfactant Glyphosate 4# Plus 250 gallon tote $19.68 gallon or $4,920,00 for a 946.3 liter tote. FNA price clear-out 41 with surfactant $5,681.00 and Monsanto out to lunch.
Now thanks to our great PMRA and the Canola growers, pea growers, crop life, wheat growers etc. we cant access this product because only products that are available in Canada, they gave FNA Clear out as a gift for all work they did. Well the other Groups who represent farmers and retailers felt the new program would work well. HA HA they are costing our farm over $10,000.00 just on the difference between one generic and another, this doesn't even count on what we would pay for the Regular Glyphos products. Liters available unlimited at this amount. Some Shortage. three phone calls.

Again the stupid trust us we know whats better for farmers attitude by groups that are suppose to represent us.

          What would you do?

BTW Check the policies of the different groups I know of at least one that did not sign onto GROU, (voluntary and lack of expertise)
Some of these groups don't claim to speak for you, only for their members.
If you are a member or pay a check off, talk to them. If your not a member they are NOT speaking for U

I don't know the methodology on how the prices were gleaned but I don't pay anywhere near what the Ontario farms are either
            probably MSRP pricing.
And don't forget every body's favorite part of pricing chemicals programing.
I know they suck but if you don't use them you leave money on the table.

I am a member of most of them and don't worry I have voiced my concern.
I buy bulk and I pay less than most of these but Select is 220% cheaper in the USA and I believe we cant go get it.Plus pursuit is cheaper and so is this other generic roundup and we cant get it. Simply when will Canadian farmers realize that we for some strange reason have been sold a load of crap for way to long on most issues. We can start with the CWB and work our way down.

Big rebate checks is a scam, take what you got and then compare with what you would have paid for products in the USA, your rebate check doesnt look so good does it.

Do US farmers have to go through rebate programs? Are their prices even better than it seems.

                  What would you do?

there is no logical reason that we as producers should not be able to arbritrage these prices....even on the health and safety side of the issue do we need both teh PMRA/CIFA or whatever the canadian regulatory body and the same on the US side carry out redundant work on the same product..and then have those costs added back at sale time....I am not certian whether the chemical mfgers make any mhigher profit margin in Canada than the us, i suspect they do not as they likley have higher overhead costs and do less voulme than they do in the US markets...

...nonetheless we need to put the competitiveness of primary producers as the number one criteria for policy and and regulatory development on issues dealing with the mfg, dstribution and resale of crop input products...

                    and Screw the cwb!!
