    CWB Club Root !?!

    Wilagro,

It is interesting that CWB supporters have often said... over the past decade..."If you don't like the CWB... grow something else."

    So folks in Alberta did.

    Rotation: Canola... snow... Canola...

Now we pay the BIG price for trying to arbitage the international market with the most dependable tool we had... ...year in year out... CANOLA.

It is now absolutely nessasary that we be allowed to arbitage the internatinal grain market with wheat and barley as well!

    To THE Wilagro's...

You may think it is funny Masser's...

The slaves are in corner... that you put us in...

You don't think we have any fighting spirit left?

    Think AGAIN.

      The Green Party candidate.

Not because he will represent my views, I'm sue he won't.

But because he will be the LEAST SMUG of all the choices.

Read this long line of stalling. Is this a Minister who cannot find hos way out of his office in the morning without a telling-I dog?

OTTAWA, Ontario, December 12, 2007 – The Honourable Gerry Ritz, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board, today issued the following statement regarding the Federal Court of Appeal’s announcement that it will hear on February 26, 2008 the Government of Canada’s appeal of a July 31, 2007 Federal Court decision that delayed implementation of marketing choice for barley producers in Western Canada.

“The Government of Canada is committed to giving Western Canadian farmers the right to choose how to market their barley, just like farmers in the rest of the country.

“The Federal Court of Appeal has agreed to hear the Government’s appeal early and this will ensure that barley growers and industry members have the market certainty they need to make decisions for the next crop year, which starts August 1, 2008.

“We will not be commenting on the details of the case, but we remain confident in our arguments that the Government has the legal authority to change the Canadian Wheat Board’s (CWB) mandate by regulation on behalf of Western Canadian barley farmers.

“This Government is committed to listening to farmers. Barley producers have been clear – by a vote of 62 per cent in this year’s plebiscite – that they want choice in marketing their own barley. The Government of Canada is working hard to make sure they have that choice in time for the 2008-09 crop year.”
