    Harvest Progress!

    We are above 60% harvested.
HRS late wheat was excellent Early a disappointment
    Durum OK
    Peas Excellent
Oats Excellent later seeded, Early light
Barley still in field seeded late.
Canola started but hope rest is better than first field.
Smaller guys doing flax or done.
Larger about at same stage as we are North East of Regina.
Watch Sask AG will come out and say the Harvest is virtually completed in Sask tonight.
Yes that's right south of Regina.
Rained last night at the farm!

I have bought lots of 14protein malt this fall, where are you and how much do you have? I know, this isn't a forum for buying or trading grain, but this is marketing!

Olds/Didsbury area, past week not much has changed. Showers keep rolling in on a regular basis. Some work on saturday yet done with grain dryers running.
I'd say maybe 20% done. Lots still standing as unless it snows better there than on the ground. Big issue with late growth and weeds. -5.5 over night so hopefully now the weeds are froze.
Canola tested 11 on Saturday yet rained that night. This week sounds good yet highs reaching 15-17 only. Perhaps I'll get the canola done and wait some more!

Combined barley yesterday and today with the best getting down to about 17% moisture. Huge variation on moisture in the field due to uneven maturity. Most canola still over 10% moisture. Forecast good but short days. hopefully more combining later in the week. central Alberta

Got an inch of rain on sunday. Got an elk license on monday. must hunt to feed family, have not combined for a week, now this inch. I'd rather elk hunt anyway! But dang, I need some cash flow soon, my fuel dealer does not barter with wild game meat.

Checked the Gauge at the farm on Monday it said 3/4 of a inch. Were wet. This week was suppose to be 20 by Friday and this morning they changed that to chance of rain on Saturday now.

More nuisance rain around Edmonton. Not what is needed in a period of shorter days/more dew at night.

Half inch here on Sunday. Seems for like an inch. Managed to take one quarter of soft wheat off and was surprised at the yield and quality still a 2. Midge didn't get this one. 5 more to go, big heavy swath will be slow to dry already a bit flat. Mysask says 90 percent rain saturday. If that happens then likely will start fixing the broken grain dryer.
