    Durum/Lentil Tour Observations

Did the Assiniboia, Cadillac, Swift Current, Stewart Valley and back home through Hodgeville round trip. Noticed field after field of nice looking lentils. No sloughs, no root rot, just nice decent lentils. Some fields a bit thinner then others but overall not bad. Some pockets have some powerful looking lentils. Durum is a bit more variable but still ok looking crops and some real nice looking ones. I know it is not a massive area of the province but it is a major lentil/durum producing area.

East of Assiniboia seems to be about the same from what I am hearing and same south.

Kinda a lentil year. Any lentil crop here that had good establishment looks not bad, this is fringe lentil country.

This heat at podding won't help them. Wish we could have a north wind for the week, but guess we can't have everything we want. 4/10 rain, don't worry, be happy. At least we can't see the gophers run in them like some of the Canola.
