    Lake mead

99 percent this probably bs but it's so crazy it's worth the post. Rumour is its dropped a few feet since the quake a few days ago, probably a faulty sensor but in the unlikely hood it is true by by Babylon, popped up on a few sites,no cut and paste from phone

This could be hard on Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson. That is our favorite residential development in Las Vegas. 1500 Spanish-style homes were built around a half section Lake, 3 or4 golf courses, 3hotels, Casino and HOA fees representative of the grandeur of the grounds. Let's hope the water level doesn't go down 8 feet a day for the summer, could mean big time rationing. The water comes from the Colorado River and California wants most of it for irrigation, so question is, "did the earthquake change the water level, was there an accounting error, or did California need it more?" Maybe more questions.

Makes you wonder when they will build water pipelines.

Is it devils lake that's growing?

Wait till they figure out they could make better use of water management instead of flowing it to the ocean.

In the last 5 years Canadians have wasted more water than they are short in the states due to not having a better water plan.

Move along folks nothing to see here.

The biggest water projects are hastily approved during a drought with no thought as to the other extreme.

The water level didn't change. 100 percent automated reading prblm. 1077ft last number of hours.. each hour.
"UPDATE: Lake Mead sent a news release Sunday evening, several hours after News 3 inquired about the readings. In part, it says: "An overnight report, indicating that Lake Mead’s water elevation declined nine feet in one hour was incorrect. Lake Mead’s elevation has remained steady around 1,077 feet for the past 24 hours, as it has for the past several days.

"The Bureau of Reclamation of the Lower Colorado River Region measures lake elevation hourly. Data at 11 p.m. May 23 showed the lake dropped from 1,077.22 feet to 1,068.75 feet and then rose back up to 1,076.76 feet an hour later.

According to the Reclamation’s River Operations Group Manager, the reading Saturday night was incorrect. Officials are aware of the faulty reading and are measuring the elevation manually to correct erroneous values. Due to the holiday weekend, online data may not reflect the corrections immediately."
