What I don't understand is how people can doubt when someone else is either too wet or too dry. Amazing....I was sincerely hoping for a shot of rain on some dry pea stubble and so thankful I got a third of an inch, while that same third would be a curse to someone else in a different part of the Prairies.

Whether is sour g****s or a lack of empathy my goodness people wake up.

There are some real problems in some places and the stakes to play(this game) are high. It isn't for the faint of heart. Water will cripple or take out some operations. I hardly think every farm yard that has been established for the last hundred plus years ,and is now surrounded by water, just happened to
put in the wrong spot. Much above average precipitation and drainage are the culprits.

I don't farm in the best part of the prairies or have the best land but I am VERY lucky, but do not begrudge me for it. Dry cycles aren't real kind to us, high and dry can be very stingy on our farm but at least it's less "damaging" than too much water.

Years of neglect of water conservation and regulation will now make itself felt. There is no easy solution or quick one. Someone downstream will also suffer.

Too wet is fuked and too dry is more fuked, we get it. We are seeding around 300 ac lakes that should not be there - the soil is wet but what is seedable is good - I guess its in between the dry and mud - but believe me there are a lot of aresa that we are fukin scratchin too . Some fields are are good the next , mostly east of us are a gong show. So we all have our problems. We have lost 450 ac of our best dirt to water here - but het it's all fukin roses out west here. Even after the huge snow two years ago we did not this water - but hey we have no fukin clue what , wet mud is......come on guys really ...
I will try to send some drone shots of the shit here to Klause -is he would be willing to post that would be a tell tale.

Its all about location..We have a C D ditch running through 2-1/4's of land..we have approx.100 acres under water now..and the neighbor just a few miles away will seed 4 square corners...

Still think the BHP mine should use the water from the Quill Lakes...

i am 4x4 in my pickup in the yard, not a clue what my fields are like, broke 3 beaver dams in a open field with a d6hlgp for sport.

Since we're commiserating about high water again, here's where I'll put up my favorite sprayer map. Hey at least there is still some land to farm! Didn't lose it all, yet. Used to seed 300 acres on this field.
Crop insurance said you're on your own.
