    Interesting Article

I just read an article by Graham Thomson in the edmonton about Brian Jean leader of the Wildrose. All political bs aside he sounds like a self made business person who appreciates hard work and enjoying the outdoors. Alberta could use a leader who has his feet on the ground.

Bond prices are falling therefore yields are going up. Now close to 2%. With over 16 trillion dollars of debt, .2% GDP doesn't cut it, but what's going to fire up productivity. Guess it is proven, giving away free money to corps isn't the answer. Household debt has never been higher - scarey situation when unemployment is threatening.

      Hamloc,

Brian Jean is truly a country kind of guy... not likely to be attractive to ND's/leftys because of his enjoyment of Hunting/Trapping wilderness connection; plus an owner of many successful small businesses in FT MaC. Wildrose Jean... fits Brian very well!!!

Just heard his advert on the radio saying how badly we need to get away from the wastage of the PC regime and how it has favoured corporate interests - wait a minute what??? does that mean the WR are going to increase taxes on the corporations? He has already said he wont raise taxes. Talking out of both sides of his mouth it seems.

Outdoors, hunting, guns ….. that sounds like it'll capture the redneck vote. Leading a province with a large and increasingly urban and diverse ethnic population - not so much. Again they are painting themselves into that lunatic, religious right party that the urban majority won't vote for.

Grassy I am curious Rachel Notely is a lawyer by training Jim Prentice is a lawyer by training Alison Redford is a lawyer by training. Brian Jean is a businessman. Myself I prefer the businessman, I could give you a long list of lawyer turned politicians who haven't panned out Alison Redford being the most recent. A province is really a large corporation in the business of supplying services to its residents, a strong business sense would be an asset. Do you prefer lawyers?

TOM4CWB: You have no idea of what a "typical" "lefty" thinks or is interested in. Typical right-wing bullshit denigrating your opposition in a biased and demeaning manner.

In case you didn't know it, many, many lefties own farms and other businesses, they are not all UNION members or war-mongering communists.

Gad, you people are so frickin' brainwashed.

Now you ranted... I spoke in generalities... Why are you offended?
If being responsible spending within our means and wanting the best for our future community is where you are at... Then Wildrose is a good option.
PC budget might as well have put an Alberta sales tax on... With all the fuel, medical, and user fees c/w the 59 tax increases we are expected to pay.
We spend more per capita than any other gov.
A minority ND Wildrose gov would be the best of both!
              Cheers!

Hamloc, I'm not particularly convinced that lawyers make the best politicians but note that Peter Loughheed was a lawyer who is generally reckoned to have made a good job as AB premier.

If you check out Wikipedia so was Brian Jean so I guess that rather undermines your argument.

The NDP polls will motivate PC support and strategic voting away from WR to the PC. Do we really want to rack up billions in debts for our kids fighting man made climate change and other lunatic policies. The PC are corrupt, incompetent, crony capitalists but the NDP?
