    Good or bad?

Saw that Saskatoon and surrounding area are under a heavy snowfall warning - 15 to 20 cm. Is that good or bad? Probably would be very heavy and wet as well. Quite dry just east of Calgary with lots of fieldwork and seeding underway. This could be a very dry season which will make SF3 happy but could bring a whole lot of grief for others. We're not that far from May 1. I don't think it will be as yellow around here as the last few years.

Digging with the local hoe here across cropped land there is not much moisture. This inch is good.

It was so dry around three hills ad red deer you couldn't tell behind from in front of the drill... this moisture is a good thing imho.

Hopper is the frost out of the ground yet?

        Moisture bad. Dry good.

I would rather be begging for rain on farm progress week. Than getting it now.

I hate rubber boots. Cold wet now is just shitty.

Ask a cattle guy or guys with 1000s of acres in.

Kicks the shit out of anything small. Only exception is weeds.

More in new breaking than cropped. But much less than a week ago. In my opinion frost boils should be out before planting. Field yard can be different.

I agree with you... Wouldn't think frost in field would be out long before the yard...

Did you tighten up the swedge under the bucket on that hoe?

Up to this point we've got basically SFA, which should make SF3 happy. Assiniboia north to Moose Jaw and north seem to be "in the zone". We won't see much unless the ridge tracks east before it runs out fuel.

              How are others doing?

We got a fair bit of rain, probably an inch. Was looking ok, earliest spring in years. Was very wet already, we sure did not need the rain.
