    The CNCP Rail Road Paradox

    The CNCP paradox... as more RR revenues have not resulted in better transport services... as increased profits were created by reducing RR service to grain grown in western Canada... directly flowing the gains to shareholders in the monopoly created by close integration of CNCPmanagement.

    We have an opportunity for a much better solution; coming forward now that all shippers (not divided by CWB)... of all grains... and bulk commodities... have the same interests to solve the same problematic issues harmful market power the monopoly railroads hold have manifested.

    Performance bonds, Competition and fair demurrage is a minimum for shippers/grainfarmers

    when rail providers (this utility provider with monopoly)

    neglect to provide sufficient and reasonable movement of grain/bulk commodities to export position (by intentionally reducing the RR capacity to increase RR profits) to force regulatory system into flowing through higher profits to shareholders.

    The Courts have spoken... TRJ v CNCP proves regulation by government statute is the only solution to problematic CNCP anticompetitive profit procurement. This megamultibillion$$$ alliance has spoken...

    The essence As spoken to by our courts...

    All is well that ends in maximized CNCP shareholder value.

    The Paradox:

    CNCP profit and shareholders Benefit:

    In exchange for;

    Grain Farmers and Shipper/owners of bulk commodities reduced value... which in turn pulls down the whole Canadian Economy.

    PLUS,

    Canada is in turn;
    An unreliable provider of food and essential industrial products in international trade and commerce.

    The 'Writ of Execution' western Canada has been issued with by CNCP and the Courts.

        Tom , has Richardson, P&H, Cargil or Vitera offered to stand with you yet? They are still strangely quiet about this.

          Furrow

          That's too funny. The same families that while asking farmers to call MPs last winter were taking enormous basis to stuff their accounts with?

          The same families that have tea with government officials regularly and wouldn't say a ****ing thing about their theft. And were not put in front of a parliamentary committee about the railroads?

          Railways rates are set and rubber stamped by the CTA. They don't change much. Railways want that changed and so do MPs looking for board seats on CNCP. (yup that's you - david anderson)

          Graincos have failed farmers as well. Months behind but not a peep.

          Why?

              Good morning folks! Top of the day to you!

              The weekly reports on rail car performance... are assembled by:

              The Western Grain Elevator Association (WGEA), the Canadian Oilseed Processors Association (COPA), the Inland Terminal Association of Canada (ITAC) and the Canadian Special Crops Association (CSCA).

              These people are the grainco families... and the lack of reasonable performance in the week 29 report is ended by them saying;

              "Ag Transport Coalition members look forward to advancing discussions with Government and collaboration with the railways on next steps to ensure that the rail transportation system is meeting the needs of Canadian businesses, contributing to their competitiveness and supporting economic growth throughout Canada."

              This sure looks to me like our grain logistics partners want better service just as much as grain growers do.

              I was talking with a value added partner, he very clearly was very frustrated. They would order cars... when they are needed they too often do not show up... then when the cars are not needed... the railway shows up with a train... then charge demurrage because they are not loaded on time.

              This is no fun for anyone.

                There is no doubt they want better service but they have not been lobbying on behave of their customers.
                Bucket said it to a T ....

                  Furrow,

                  The life blood of each grainco is tied up in railway performance. The RR have a monopoly over shipping grain. Louis Dreyfus did some level of service complaints.. and we are told they are really paying big time (difficulty in getting shipping) for the RR complaints submitted...

                    All the line co's have done is put in a few mild complaints at best, while their customers struggle with late deliveries and late payments on inputs.
                    When they push full support behind what you are doing - then you will get a flood of support but they will never do that because 50% of the grain movement issues are their own inefficiencies .
                    When the line co's get their shit together as far as orginizing their own shipping and stand with farmers to fight the rail co's - then we have a leg to stand on , until then you / we are pissing in the wind.
                    More other line co's than L.D. must have realy pissed off CN/ CP here and in many other areas cause service is very selected. Locally P&H is having a hard time keeping up to trains, 1/2 mile north and 4 miles south they can't get cars . Is it blaming rail co's by line co's or certain line co's have shitty sales because of incompetent loading facilities at the coast ?? Human nature 90% of the time points fingers elsewhere ....

                      why would the grain.cos want to kill kill the golden goose of rail restricted market access for grain producers..

                      as long as the hole in the funnel to the coast is too small. the basis robbery can continue .
