Maybe that's why the railways are missing targets.

Graincos should be hauled in front of a parliamentary committee and made sure that they explain wtf is going on.

A few reports from the graincos would be good PR.
Publish some shipping targets. Send out a press release when an Act of God occurs. Nothing.

It's all mandatory in the states.

And as much as I dislike trend line yield reports - it helps them plan infrastructure.

Imagine if the US was using yield data from 20 years ago to do infrastructure planning. Oh wait that's canada.

Graincos continue to blame the railways, which is wrong as we can see the grain is moving to port. Farm stocks in the last statcan numbers indicated this .
My guess is Ritz will agree with the graincos, and his solution will be to deregulate rail freight.

Utimately your elevator to port price differential will increase from$100 per tonne to $200 per tonne once the railways start collecting their fair share too.

Glad i live near the USA border, but unfortunate for u guys in mid sk, or further north.

Would be a policy turnaround for elevator assn to support deregulation.
Had to wonder why they were so supportive of farmer resistance to change in revenue entitlement.

For those who think graincos make big profit from basis levels, why would they want to change things?

Grain companies made their money when we had the CWB paying storage, all the marketing costs, all demurrage. Thanx farmers.

If owning elevators was so lucrative, why did we sell them all? See Witpwtt22net Etc etc. just curious? Farmers owned elevators, sold em and now complain...drop it on cwb they never graded grain or loaded a car. They just took money and stopped you from selling your grain if and when and to who you wanted to. Plus it's gone so drop it. New cwb will not operate anything like old one
