I don't think so. It seems that it can freeze hard for days on end and they get better! Here if our temp even nears the freezing mark the crops are finished.
"Western Kansas – I was traveling through western Kansas and parts of eastern Colorado checking out some of the wheat. There is definitely what look to be big patches of winterkill. There are big areas of brown wheat that you can see from the road easily. Most of the wheat is green and looks like it should about one month from now. None of the ground is frozen since we have been over 60 degrees for 2 weeks now. In my opinion, another cold snap with no snow cover and we will be facing heavy winterkill or poor quality wheat. The Kochia weed is already showing up too, which is about a month ahead of normal. If you don’t catch the kochia weed early, there’s not a chemical that will kill it."
