Yeah, I had a thread about that a bit back, looking forward to some drier weather...Within a week of that thread we got another foot or more. And now this. Winter is too long.

    Mud is no fun.

It all blows so hard to tell but I bet getting close to 2 feet.

Almost 6 inches today. 8 in the last storm free wheat is talking about and some in between.

Moisture is needed for plant growth. I like snow...even six feet of snow would not hurt most farms around here. At one inch of water per foot of snow even eight feet of snow is no big deal.

We have had a couple of big snow years here over the past 10 years it sucks, one year we still had snow in the fields on may first.

I hate big snow years just makes the low spots really wet I would rather have a dry winter dry may and then have a wetter june and july.

Wilagro. Take it. Take it all.

bgmb: May 1st? ONCE? That would be nice. lol

But seriously, you are right. Snow is often more debilitatiing than rain, it gets the moisture problems started in the first place.

HA, well yes once had snow in the middle of the fields still. many times we are seeding with drifts on the fence lines and trees.

But Yes I agree its a bad cycle too much snow means you cant get a crop seeded and then your fields just get wetter and wetter. This is why I advocate for seeding a crop at all costs even if you just break even its still worth it just to keep the land in production.
