freeze drying cereals?

Does "freeze drying" grain work? Running the fans at -30 when the RH is low actually dry anything or just freeze it up?

I dried canola one winter with cold air, from 14% down to just around 10%. I assume cereals will work even better.

That $50 bag of shrimp I've been saving for a special occasion seems to dry out in the freezer,

dries oilseeds really good , dried flax from 16 to dry and in only -30 temperatures. not sure about cereals

if bin is warm, running cold air of low humidity will remove moisture. open the hatch and watch the moist air come out the top. you will definitely bring it down a few points. - same result as cooling the grain when it comes out of the drier.

From my experience you can store 18-20 percent wheat. It will dry some but wont come out of the bin dry.

It will depend on the CFM, humidity of air, static load.

I dropped about 5000 bushels of wheat from 17.5% to 16% after running a 10HP fan for a week at -30C this December/January.
