    Wireless Digital Signal Era

How dependant are you on yours?
What would happen if you lost all signals(cell phone, internet, television) for a day, a week, a month, a year?

Do you still have a land line for phone? Is there a component of the delivery of landline service that relies on digital wireless signals? Can satellite TV signals be converted to phone/internet services if the network of cellphone towers went down?

I needed to register a vehicle in a community that was experiencing an extended power outage with erratic service. Everything ground to a halt. Even had to pay for dinner with a debit card during one of the brief times the power did come on(before we were done eating it).

I myself never would be without a landline phone. Each to there own, but if you have any understanding of the hacking world, best of luck with your cell on personal info you may give out. Even cordless phones, (in the city especially), are a no no.

If we lost service, I would be fine with that. I do not rely on it at all, really. It is nice, but I could survive easily enough.

      No biggie.

Oh we'd all survive alright but a lot of inconveniences would be encountered doing business.

We couldn't operate without a land line. We live 6 lies from a cell tower but have poor service. Here, near the US border, it seems MTS cut their power.

We don't do online banking as I fear the hackers.

I could live without tv or the internet, even for a year. Yes, life would be different, but I grew up in a non digital era and could adapt. It helps that I've had my fifteen minutes, and am content to be private.

          Of,course, I'd miss you AgriVillains!

What would suffer is how we approach commerce. We find convenience in using technology to search prices, new companies to deal with etc. It could still happen via phone calls but that would be much slower.

Ebay would close down faster than aTarget store if I couldn't browse for collectibles:-(

What makes you think you wouldn't be hacked even though you don't online bank?

Absolutely could be hacked Tweety. I just hoped that by having a smaller digital footprint there might be less chance.

Kind of like when the telephone first came in, people were afraid someone was 'listening'.

Why do i need a phone, i can just go talk to them.

A repeat today with social media and the boomers.

I still remember having party telephone lines haha.
And also that crank handle telephone. Never had a computor in school and only 3 out of 20 typrwiters were electric. I am 5 to 10 years away from retirement. Then the places I will enjoy most likely will not have cell service. Churchill river ski hills kalalau trail etc.
