    Is this the new normal?

Trying to move two measly loads of canola. No one has space. What memo did I miss? Some are booked into March for delivery.

If this is the new normal, I quit. This is just stupid already. Canola used to be as good as cash in the bank.

Anyone know anywhere they are taking canola right now? Just a couple loads.

Stuff like this makes me crazy. Another nail in the coffin of farming.

Last year I had no issues with the supposed huge crop, and the rail issues.

        Tongue in cheek..

poor planning on my part doesn't constitute an emergency on your part.

is this a contract or spot sale? Kinda a silly question if you're "looking for somewhere" to deliver...

        It's the new game.

I know it is the new game, but when did it start? Until Friday, I had never ever had trouble finding someone to take a load or two of unpriced canola.

It is the same here, those days seem to be a distant memory.

Are you try to haul to a crusher or local elevator?

Pioneer Wadena says March or later. Viterra working on Nov contracts, way behind. All the deliverys are deferred contracts, needed to plan rail cars. Makes sense, malt, oats all priced. The new norm, plan cash flow ahead.

                    All of the above, seabass.

                    Unpriced, uncontracted. Two measly loads.

Crushers, elevators. Same story. Booked until Feb/March. I have just never had this issue before, and wonder how I missed the memo that canola is no longer easy to convert to cash, that you have to book it in two month ahead of delivery to have any hope of delivery at all.

Me no like this new game. I grow canola for a reason, one of them being easy cash flow management.
