Sask3 you are probably right they would simply raise the price. I payed 10.20 a pound for L130 and L 135C but not with lumiderm. Biggy you have certainly peaked our interest what should we be paying?

Price quotes can vary huge - depending on seed treatment, aditions like J/S or lumiderm, is the tech agreement included in your quote or not, is it a 15 bag offer or 150 bag offer. These things can vary the so called price of seed by $3/lb - same variety. Then there are specific traits like Sclerotina and club root resistance factors as well. Make sure you compare apples to apples.
The tech agreements keep going up - BASF has doubled in the past three years , Monsanto keeps raising it's cost, seed treatments are triple what they were 5-6 years ago.
Not making excuses, canola seed is very costly now for sure, and seed cost itself is higher but the majority of the "seed" cost increase the past few years is from the non seed components. Just food for thought.
More than ever , make sure you are getting a variety that has a good track record for the majority of your acres and know exactly what it's treated with and what your needs are for specific seed treatments and traits if needed.

Companies like Bayer have an msrp minimum that retailers can't charge lower than, but they can price above.

Bayer used to pay the retailer 15%. Likely still do.

Biggyt if your actually for real, you should perhaps leave some contact info for the members of this site. Pretty easy to come on and announce everyone's getting screwed then slip off into darkness.

HA I wish it was 7-10%. Seed biz has almost become a service. Things aren't like they used to be..

540 with no lumiderm or spray or premium. No big whoop your just in the game.
Nice to have someone show their cards. Seed business is like you say your shuffling cards for the big boys.
It's the monsantos and bayer etc that run the show. And it's a no mercy show till we all say enough is enough and drop this useless crop that they destroyed.
