So bayer wins small plot and field scale trials. I dont put much faith in the field scale ones but maybe they do show us something about the herbicide system.

My question is why would anyone grow RR canola? with roundup resistant weeds staring us in the face would you not be better off using a different group like liberty?

SW Manitoba, SE and South Central Sask, and a large swath on either side of the Alta/Sask border devoid of any contributing data. Where I live there is no site data for a long way around me.

I noticed that too. The whole thing is pathetic. Maybe next year we should all claim out checkoffs back and hire a company like agquest to do some proper variety trials for us with all varieties included. I paid $4000 last year to canola growers, we dont need more recipes for canola oil we need good unbiased properly run variety and agronomic trials.

Just to clarify I am not saying this data is totally useless but for a crop that is so important to the economic well being of western canadian farmers its not near good enough. I have way better data available on almost every other crop.

The data is totally useless, and you are right right right bgmb.

No consistent comparisons and not all the companies represented. data comes out long long after seed sales and discounts.

You have to have failed math to say liberty was best, most are below check and below most of the RR's. Got yer blue goggles on? Invigor cherry picks plots eliminating the ones that don't perform. Its pretty crooked business but famers lap that shit up.

The canola commissions really need to wake TF up!

Those hutterites in AB got their shit together. That plot in Viking with all the varieties and a consistent check, now that's a plot! And big surprise, all the top varieties yielded pretty much the same - no manipulation allowed.

Sure wish we had 5 or 6 of those here in SK!!!!
