The Crooks Changed da Game So We The Farmer are Not Allowed To Participate in The Markets Up Until The Front Month Expires!!!!!!!!! Theys Been Biddin Off March fer How Long Now!!!!!!! As a Farmer, Volatility is What Makes The Markets Go Round, And I Would Like To Be in The Market Till The Very End If I Damn Well So Please!!!!!!!!!

I think the volitily you see in the front month is because volume is so low from everyone moving on

If you want in till last day do an EFP. Sell the futures sign a basis and transfer. Otherwise sell physical and reown paper. Good luck getting out and finding broker that'll let you go that long. Had the same thought though. The "roll" seems to come way before things get interesting and before volume drops off

I Dont Really Give a Good God Damn Who er How Many is Left Standing in The Pit!!!!!!!! If and When I Feel Like Picking Up The Phone Say Today Dec.30th, And I Wanna Sell 100,000 Bu of Canlowa, I Should Be Able To Sell it For Todays Price, Not A Price 3 Months Out That is Irrelevant To Me!!!!!!!!! And Dont Give me That Bullshit Excuse The Grain Buyers are Only Protecting Themselves!!!!!!! When They Buy a Bushel of Grain, Its Gotta a Buyer at The Other End!!!!!!!! If They Want To Play The Storage, Basis Spreads, Etc. Game, That Has Nothing To Do With Me!!!!!!! They Can Take That Risk on Themselves and Not At The Expense of Thee Farmer!!!!!!!!!!!

BTO; macdon02 beat me to it but I'll explain it in your language. "Give" them your canola now, or off the combine, then go to the Futures & Options Casino. Manipulation at its finest. Test the odds and someone on here once said if you stay long enough the "house" will get all your money. And dont forget Kenny Roger's advice...... good luck!

                FarminAlcholic,

Yall are Missing My Point Entirely, I Know Exactly How The Futures Market Works!!!!!!!!!! What I am Saying is if I Want To Sell a God Damn F'ing Bushel of Canlowa on a Straight Cash Deal I Should Be Able To Sell it fer Dec.30th's Price, Not Based Off of March Futures 3 Months Out!!!!!!!! I Should Not Have to Dabble in a Manipulated Futures Market To Receive The Same Price Per Bushel That I could Have Sold on Dec.30th!!!!!!!! And With an Added Cost Involved!!!!!!!! I Will Break it Down Even Further 4Yous - Pick Up Phone, Hi, Sell fer Dec.30ths Price, Ok Bye, Deliver Tomorrow, Pick Up Cheque Same Day, Done & Done!!!!!!!!!!!! Copy That????

BTO. sarcasm fully intended and I agree 1000% with you. More skimming off the top with early(rolling) "pricing off further months" in an inverse market. Bend over and a Happy New Year of Sodomy everyone. Grit your teeth and bear it!!!

                    Hopper,

When Was Basis Contract Done and With Who???? Find That One Hard To Believe!!!!!!! All Grain Buyers Have Switched To Making you Roll Basis Contracts Around The 15th Of Each Futures Month - Ex. Jan Futures Needs To Be Priced er Rolled Dec.15th, March - Feb. 15th and So on and So Forth. Beans are The Last Hold Out, If I Had a Basis Contract fer Beans I Have Till Tomorrow To Price er Roll, They Have Till The End of The Month!!!!!!!! BUT, That is Changing Now As Well With Some of The Crooks Buyin, Makin Yous Price er Roll Them Beans By The 15th!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you saying you want it the way it was twenty years ago. Call elevator 3-5 miles away, ask if they got room, wait in line for several blocks as all elevators were in town. Dump the load and pickup check. Pull out of driveway. Park. Walk to bank then to bar? Was too much risk to grain co that way, couldn't load 100 cars. Nobody contracted and they had to bid. I miss those days. Seemed I could pay all the bills with the canola and cereals were left over. Maybe it was thirty years idk but seemed simpler then

Adm allows till mid jan to price jan futures. Ten minutes of sweet talkin and you can do it to. I seen the nov futures do the same thing. I wanted jan cause thought it would do the same and wanted to price earlier. I think am more bullish on later futures but wanted to price eaier. Do some sweet talking. I did in two steps. Last one on the last future decline.
