    diesel prices vs. crude oil

The American price for diesel is below 50 cents per litre. They are also talking about locking prices out as far as 18 months. If our price ever drops in line with our southern neighbours, has anyone figured out a way to lock these lower prices in. Can we bring fuel in from states? $50 crude should be getting us a lot lower prices.

Maybe the rail cars that are hauling our crude down there could bring back fuel.
Shut down all our refineries and just buy from them.

Great question, if we bring diesel up from US?
      Would taxes be an issue?
Is it covered under the free trade agreement?

You have to pay tax on any bulk fuel (minus one jerry can) that is not being used to power the vehicle. That being said, you can plumb your slip tank into the fuel line for your vehicle and then fill up your slip tank with no problem. Bring it across and then transfer it into another tank and repeat.

Just remember that in the USA you must have clear diesel in your vehicle tank. In order to get the dyed diesel out of the trucks tank requires at least two fillings here with clear diesel. Also believe it is illegal to plump into a second tank unless it is part of the vehicle( came from the factory so equiped).
