Versatile bidirectional hydraulic cylinder safety locks

My friend bought a red versatile bidirectional, (286?) . he has two hard working sons helping with cows while he works away. This unit does not have any locks / mechanism to lock the hydraulic bucket lift .those guys are always under there hooking up the PTO. For different implements.
Where does a person get originals, or what shop can make something that works for this application?

Maybe something similar to a combine feeder house lock they use during transport.

Cut a pipe so it slips over the rod.

Hate hearing of injuries when it can be avoided.

Cut a piece of heavy wall pipe in half latteraly, smooth the edges, and glue some rubber on the inside of pipe, so you dont etch the ram rod.
Better yet, have a machine shop press a flat iron to fit.
Fasten on a hinge joint at bottom to release in safety mode, drill a hole on top to insert quick pin to hold it in safety position. Very dangerous working with out locks on a lift cylinder, never know when youll blow a hose or fitting.

        Even better idea mbgrower.

Just tell those hard workers to do something to protect themselves.
