fcc would not lend me money for LAND. It was the guy behind the desk though. Not sure if we got him fired, but he should have been.

There is always going to be a percentage of businesses going under and that is just a reality in this world. If banks don't lend to ventures such as Broad Acres then they wouldn't lend to most of us. After all they have just filed for creditor protection not bankruptcy. A bit of restructuring and they are good to go again.

"good to go again"! Hahaha. How are they going to farm their way out of a $46,000,000.00 hole when no one will be willing to rent them land or extend them more credit. It's a case of: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...

I haven't commented on Broadacre, I'm not in SK and don't know the dynamics. However, Broadacre's business plan and financials, debt servicing, equity and credit rating would have to meet FCC's requirements to qualify for loans. More than one set of eyes would be involved with the due diligence.

Maybe Broadacre used the Bernie Madoff method and made off with funding?

Hopper, didn't you heed the warning from the guy at Woodstock? Don't take the Brown Acid. Stay away from the Brown Acid.

I would give fcc a vision but they never call me or mail me.

The big acre, absent ownership, 8 hour day/5 days a week employee model is flawed. Cash motivation doesn't work for every one.

Anjelic partners with motivated farmers, that works! The biggest land owner in Saskatchewan 150,000 acres plus? Check the recent western producer and a Star Phoenix article.

Pension funds use before tax dollars to buy land. Family farms should have similar mechanisms to compete. If govt doesn't recognize this change will continue, more fund type ownership. A huge competitive disadvantage for family farms.

In Europe they do everything possible to preserve this culture, here we aim to destroy it.
