Mixed farms may as well forget it. Unless your total herd dies of mysterious illness, your calf crop takes you out of payment territory. Remember your inventory increases with the calf crop.

Most guys have separated their cows and grain operations. One son has the cows the other has the grain in name only.

Operation still does ok but it's treated as 2 for these Idiotic programs.

Instead of creating programs that reward guys for being self sustaining they create obstacles.

These are the operations worth saving. Not the Pikes that use the system thru a ponzi scheme.

In my opinion, the government should end this program and devote those funds to improving crop insurance and Agri-invest.

          Keep it simple.

Axe all the supposed safety nets.

Give tax credits for companies or groups wanting to improve rail or port infrastructure.

Buy your own private insurance or self insure.

Invest the money into AAFC, CDC, or the universities for agronomy and experimental early pure science.

Where would western Canada be without Canola?

There is a critical need for agronomy researchers in every level from PHD.....field staff and lab techs

Better question is where would canola research and industry be without western canada?

Their success has came on the backs of producers.

And there is a bigger critical need to get a functioning transportation system in Canada.

We don't need to grow more we need to move more first.

Farmers have always met the challenge.

                Industry hasn't.

You are putting the cart before the horse.
