    Interesting...Over the past five years, the average farmland loss rate in the U.S. was equal to:

    5 million acres per year.
    4,000 acres per day.
    172 acres per hour.
    8 acres per minute.

    Urban expansion I presume.

    Funny cuz over on agtalk all they do down there is seed former crp land. I wonder if this is included?

          It doesn't seem hard to believe based on how cities grow, recreation property grow, acreages, farmyards get bigger, airports, highways, reservoirs, etc.
          Just look at Saskatoon!

          (It looks like they punched in a wrong number for breaking down the smaller units.)
