Railway fines 100,000 per week?? WTF

Heard on the radio last night that the gov't was pondering fines for CNR. But the reporter doing the story said that the fine for lack of shipping volume was typed up wrong in the legislation??? and reads $100,000/week rather that $100,000/day like we were all told at the time.

Has anyone else heard of this?

If it's only 100 thou per week the management can get that from the coffee fund

Sure the government pulled $100,000 per day out of thin air.....the railways lobbied for nothing and you settle for a clerical error. The fine goes to the account of the receiver general anyways...and no one consider the $100,00/day or week to be a serious amount anyways. Just a showing for the Cons to pretend to have farmer's interests at heart.

In the end it will mean maybe a week of Sundays....each start date beginning with a new month.

In any event it will be more costly to collect than the pittance that might be recovered...and certainly nothing charged for the actual losses and damages.
