Is it a provincial free-for-all yet or is the government still going to regulate there can't be one on every corner? I was thinking of the Emerald Park/White City location, a booming suburb east of Regina, when they announced two for the area.

The publics concern is cheap booze but is it profitable for the store owners in Alberta?

Wow someone woke up to the fact we dont need high paying government workers to sling booze for twenty five years then collect pension for thirty and run up public debt and taxes into the strasphere crippling the economy and burdening future generations with a much lower standard of living. ****ing greatest generation and baby boomers to stupid to even relize what they have done(not all of you of course)

Thank God the madness is going to stop. Lets see pay flunkies 55,000 a year or more to stock shelves. WTF.
It will never be like Alberta where Kirkland Vodka and Beer in Mega packs.

I think after next election it will be privatized.
Time to sell off liquor board stores.

Only people that will be upset will be union leaders and the NDP.

SGI, good grief, what a racket that is. Now, with no-fault, they are pretty much off the hook. We have all signed the papers for torte coverage. Hope every farmer has too.

This decision to privatize is based in IDEOLOGY not ECONOMICS

Mustard, if Sask is following the Alberta model, the Govt hasn't given up anything except retailing. They still control wholesale and taxes, the private vendors compete for market share. What the Govt gave up was paying unionized store employees and maintenance on retail locations. After the dust settled, it worked out pretty good. My town has 13,000 people and there are 6 retail stores. And if you get thirsty late at night, well, a couple of them stay open until 2:00 AM seven nights a week.
