        I agree the color is all wrong on that wheat. Fusarium not sure but some thing is wrong.

          It could be just the pic. Sometimes digital photos can slightly off color certain colors depending on light conditions. Then when put onto a non glossy paper can make it look even worse.

            Could be - that with a red sunset ?
            I hear fusarium is bad in many areas - here some soft wheats are changing color

                That pic is in Etzikom, AB. The most common variety of winter wheat in Southern Alberta is Radiant, and that is the correct color for the heads when it matures. Radiant fields are very distinctive, their bronze colored heads can be seen from miles away.

                    Radiant has a 'red' awn where most of our CWRS have 'White' awns . Very pretty as the Radiant awns go from green to red... where light awned wheat goes from green to light yellow to brown eventually.

                    I do not see any new winter wheat varieties in the pipeline with red awns... too bad, easy to see if there was a purity problem from 110k!
