      Tom...good explanation.

The "privilege" is a bit vague in it doesn't say specifically seed can be reused for export grain...I believe it says farm use. Not sure how to interpret this. Your thots? Maybe I read wrong.

Farmers did this to themselves, plain and simple. If growers would have bought seed, kept it and used it for 20 years the seed co's would not care. The issue is guys like SF3 that clean up seed and sell it to neighbors. Growers are not happy playing by the rules put forward as PBR so end point checkoff is only solution. Like i said we did it to ourselves. Thank goodness I will be retired by the time all this comes into effect.

Hold your horses. Guys like SK3 that clean and sell to neighbours.
Really REally. I don't sell seed to any neighbour.
I get some new varieties each year the ones that do ok are kept for our farm and the ones that suck are sent away. Last year we got a barley that we were told would be awesome for malt they are lining up to buy it. It yielded awesome was nice and short no straw but guess what no one wants the shit.
              ITs gone.
All I am saying is what happened with canola will happen with Wheat.
              Just watch.

I maintain that if the product is not foundation,
registered or certified, it has no varietal purity and
the courts will decide if they can collect a royalty
after a few years. And furthermore, how many
cops do you think we need so it can be
                  enforced?

mbdog, you have no "rights" and are not
signing any away. you are simply agreeing
to the terms of the holder of the
                    intellectual property.
