does anyone on here think this is anything less than a total market
breakdown.
assuming it is ,what should the federal govt. and us do about it.
what concrete measures that could be
taken. to fix it.
examples of the crisis.
criminal basis levels
demurrage
lost sales and reputation.
no end in sight.
what if we have winter next year?
i will propose a few things.
tear them apart if you want.
but i want to hear what solutions
those of you with political connections
are telling your gov. to do.
also any CWWGA members.
what have you got.
lets hear it.
i know you usually have to wait for
CN CP ,and grain co.s
to tell you what to think.
but their kinda the problem here.
maybe that explains your silence
my proposals
the rr.s
the hardest one, it is like pushing a rope.
a forced partnership with the federal
govt. so there are no more excuses.
RRs have to be able to move everything this nation needs moved.
even for defense purposes .
grain co.s
basis levels
now it is kind of assumed that basis will return to normal, once the transport problem is fixed.
they may , but we have to consider
they may not.
the only way to insure they are market driven, is provide competition.
build functional producer car load sites across the prairies.
build or acquire Gov owned terminal elevators at ports.
for surge capacity and a competitive option.
you just have to look at the gov.
elevator built in the 1920s in saskatoon .
no one say it can not be done.
and if i hear any BS that we can
not have gov. competing against private industry,
the RRs and the grain .cos have had plenty of chances to do the right thing.
we are way past that.
Tom or who ever , let's hear what
your proposing.
if you have nothing, we have to assume you think it's just fine.
