    Viterra sees above-average Prairie crops

    Viterra sees above-average Prairie crops
this was in the latest Grain news paper!
    WTF!
Are they just plain fricking nuts. Every
single other agency is saying the 2012
crop has issues and canola is a shit show,
yet Viterra says above average prairie
    crop.

Except for the canola, I sorta agree with what
they are saying Saskfarmer. You got to admit,
alot a people on here, and ones you talk to are
saying wheat 40-50. Would you not call that a
    good crop?

      Now 30 to 50 hrs. Durum 30 to 50 no 60 s out
their. Plus barley is shit and hearing oats in
Manitoba is 60 to 100. That's poor for manitoba.
Canola haven't talked to any one who is really
happy with canola. So basically I wouldn't say
above average. It's a average wheat and below
      peas barley oats and canola!

Here is the article. Who is the audience? What is the context? What is the message? What is trying to be accomplished?

After yesterdays wind storm they may want to issue a retraction - soon.

They always want to paint a Bright picture for the AG sector so they can justify higher input costs for us..

Thats all their working on is to screw
                western Canadian farmers on inputs.
listen to the commercials on the radio.
Order your seed its way better even if
your harvesting the shit that their
telling you is so much better. Add this
and that to your crop for 5% more
profit. How about were lucky to have
higher prices this fall or it would be
one hell of a fricking year.

Plot of canola done in west central sask
and yields were around 40. Just saying.

So you have read the press release and believe it is for farmers? I read it and I believe it is for shareholders/the new owner. Grain handling is a volume and margin business. The discussion over inputs is somewhat relevant but I think this year will be one where grain companies fight over a smaller crop on the grain handle side. Investors can make this connection and will be nervous.
