Wow, that is pretty bad. Very sorry about
that. You do not need to be embarrassed.
Neat perspective, but the subject matter
is unfortunate. Again, don't be too hard
on yourself, I know for me, it can be
      tough to not.

That is pretty bad. I agree, you are being too hard on yourself. I think any honest farmer will say we have all made mistakes and learned from them. I have years where we spayed the whole farm and it was a total waste of money. Wish we had a better means of trying to predict how bad this disease is going to be prior to flowering.

I'm in SE Sask. I should have known it could have been bad, usually have a bit in low spots always and this year all the stars lined up for this. I even know what to look for (regarding the little mushrooms that are responsible for this) and decided not to look. Ostrich farming at its best. Has everything to do with my frame of mind and being kinda fed-up.

Did you have lentils on that feild in the last three
years? Seeing the same thing all over here, you
                are not alone.

What is the best way to deal with this. Let it stand and straight cut it or swath it?

If you swath it - at what stage do you put it down?

Scary to see that level of infection with a long, well run rotation.

If you planted wheat there last year, what the hell happened to last years stubble?

Nice rotation. That's crazy how bad that is in that
rotation. Are you seeing a lot of mushroom in last
                            years canola fields?

Hopper: this pic was on the headlands and with the Flexicoil style(NH 440A)drill on 10 inch spacing there would have been more ground disturbance. Openers are 3.5 inch paired row (Dutch) and they tend to throw a bit of dirt. Besides the fields were also heavy harrowed last fall. Last years Lillian wheat yeilded about 40ish with close to 16%px. You don't need a pile of straw.

Happy: Honestly, I know what I am looking for, unfortunately I haven't been looking to hard, obviously.
