    Dalek......?

How is your corn? Received some pictures from Ottawa area (ARNPRIOR) and the corn there is firing to protect ONE cob...bean leaves were curled and have a week left before they are toast...

No rain there since June 03.

Larry, we just came through that
    area(visiting the in-laws near Quebec
city). The corn was just above waist high
and a bluegreen colour and the bottom
leaves were burnt off.Soybeans had not
leaved out enough to close up the rows. The
grass in the ditches of the highway were
    starting to brown off.

We haven't had rain since mid- June, might be
some coming this weekend but we've been short
since last fall. Most of my corn and beans are
doing better than I expected, might still make an
80 percent crop if it rains this weekend. Hay is
done, hearing 14-15 cents a pound to buy. I've
seen fields of corn and beans nearby on sandier
ground that are completely dead, some forage
harvesters will start next week whether it rains or
not before corn gets too dry to ferment. I've never
seen our pond completely empty before

Some of the smaller hydro generating stations are
being shut down because even with dams, there isn't
enough water flow to keep them running.

Better than I expected. SRW, made 66 bushels/acre,
            and lots of straw.
