    Aster yellows

Holy crap field after field visible from the road, don't have to stop to see it. Last time we had this a 40 bu stand, one field went 15 the other about 25. Major yield loss huge area from what I'm hearing what about out west?

Significant amount in canola but not sure if significant effect on yield. I can stand in my flax field and spot it easily as well. Didn't even know it affected flax.

Not sure if it is varieties or timing of seeding but it seems to vary greatly on fields, but the one year sk ag was saying the effect was minimal in our area at least easily 25% to 50%. It's not only what you see it is the pods that should have been that are not there also, and I think that gets missed in the damage assessments. jmo

Yes you guys, it is the damage you don't see right now that is the kick in the balls. Healthy looking plants have the seeds go to shit and blow right out the combine. A 40 to 50 bushel swath will end up being 10 to 20 bu crop.

Just remember the experts are calling
                    for a large canola crop.

I would say with the recent down trend
some importers, china, are buying alot of
                    cheap product. Corn, soybeans and
canola. If the end user was buying a
week ago, chances are they are buying
                    more now.

What does this have to do with aster
yellows, the crop is getting smaller not
larger. Its as obvious as them aster
yellows that stand out in a field as you
drive by even at 60. The traders and
office guys can't see them when they are
trading this large crop. Puke. Morons.
