    Wind

It's been frightfully windy in the southeast, with
gusts picking up surprisingly fast. Last night's
rippers came screaming out of a calm hot day,
and I see a huge maple branch lying on the lawn
this morning. A few days ago, the wind knocked
a tree down onto the power line at our other
farm, and burned down the old school that was
used for storage, and also burned the porch on
the south side of the house, adjacent to the
school. A commotion, and a loss of antiques and
artwork isn't my idea of holidaytime foreplay.

Parsley... I am sorry to hear of your losses and damages.

Losing collectibles is demoralizing as they are seldom, if ever,
    replaceable.

The clean up and repairing adds insult to injury.

Life can be unfair.... unfortunately. Bill

I hate wind. Sucks the energy right out of me, hard to work in. Too destructive--buildings and trees blown over, swaths blown around, excessive drying effect. It can blow relentlessly here for days in the spring.

Bill, Mother Nature sets her own rules of
fairness.. As most females do, so I fully
appreciate her masterminding. lol. Sawed and
lugged huge limbs hehind the Rhino today. First
time it's ever been driven slowly. Two trees did
not require the tree-surgeon; rather, they were
ready for the funeral. But maple is heavy when
it's green, so I too, am kinda green tonight. New
potatoes for dinner tonight so that's the first taste
of true summer-eating. La la la Pars

Parsley... you are truly a pioneer ... but I won't comment on your
            gender remark!.. LOL

Boy oh boy you are highly self sufficient in foodstuffs .... and the
dishes you tell us AV'ers about sound so inviting and enticing.

Don't injure yourself, nor your dear Rhino, lugging trees... there
is equipment which can actually do this work.

You have such a great attitude... terrific indeed.

            Cheers... Bill

We missed the big rain sumdum. Have been
watering every day. Lily season is just beginning
and they are water suck-ups, as are the squash
and corn. I must have been worried about winter-
starvation when I planted so many pkgs of seed.
