My laptop would switch to french also.

Go to control panel
click clock,language and region
click keyboards and languages
click change keyboards
you can switch back to US english then delete all the other options.

Thanks. This has happened to me a couple of times but always seemed to correct itself after I logged off. I didn't need another reason to hate francais so now that problem has been fixed.
