    5440 NoVigor

Anyone else having any issues with their 5440 canola this year? Mine is sure slow coming compared to the L 120. Don't know if I'm having a seeding issue or seed issue here. Going to give it till Monday or so. Might just have to get the drill dirty again.

our 150 is up and nice and RR ready is
poking out. 5440 still in bag. Hm last
year 5440 did way better than the 150. I
hope its not a seed problem.

I've never seen a year with such variability in seed. Size in cereals and in canola is all over the board. Germination is also all over the board. I bought seed lots of wheat, barley and canola that were in the 94% range. I think the demand for seed was very high which may have encouraged companies to sell seed that in other years they may not have. I have a neighbor who also indicated that when he switched canola varieties mid field he saw a marked difference. We have also seen this in the past. Note that the L 130 at out local distributor was all over 5 grams per thousand while the L150 was only around 4.
