Anyone else having any issues with their 5440 canola this year? Mine is sure slow coming compared to the L 120. Don't know if I'm having a seeding issue or seed issue here. Going to give it till Monday or so. Might just have to get the drill dirty again.

I've never seen a year with such variability in seed. Size in cereals and in canola is all over the board. Germination is also all over the board. I bought seed lots of wheat, barley and canola that were in the 94% range. I think the demand for seed was very high which may have encouraged companies to sell seed that in other years they may not have. I have a neighbor who also indicated that when he switched canola varieties mid field he saw a marked difference. We have also seen this in the past. Note that the L 130 at out local distributor was all over 5 grams per thousand while the L150 was only around 4.Comment
