Are the Chineese Conected to some of these Land Companies!

Some thing is really funny about these
land companies. 1st why are guys like
Redhead not buying land now? We had 38
quarters sell yet he had same chance on
the 8 and didnt buy either.
But here is the funny thing, The 8 were
purchased by a guy from China. He is in
our area now. Doesnt take ownership till
fall. Learning from the farmer how to
    farm.
This guy is no Millionaire from China.
He is a basic farm worker from china.
The second thing last week most neigbors
are starting to wonder why the supposed
land company was toting around a group
from china in our area. They had one guy
who spoke very good english and then a
few who were right off the boat. Again
    labour workers not millionairs.
So most in area are now thinking the
same as me is this whole thing one huge
    land grab by the Chineese.
Simply buy out stupid farmers all over
the world then send over migrant farm
workers to produce food. Then ship back
the food not through our systems as we
know it now. Maybe the next will be the
port of Churchill they will purchase.
So how will your grain sales be if China
produces its own food and doesnt need
    you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They can boat in Fertilizer, They can
clean and ship back containers with out
any of our system. How will canola sales
be if a couple million acres are not
using the Ice futures. Ship direct back
    home.
Were dealing with a communist country
who is slowly taking over our farms. Our
big three buyers are China India and the
rest of the world, take out china and
how will every ones sales be.
From what most in our area have seen so
far this is what is going to happen.
    These arent wealthy immigrants their
    well placed workers.
Time will tell but it sure looks that
    way today.

Maybe it isn't as slow as you say.

There is the remote possibility that Northgate is a part of this plan; and some will be rightfully labelled as very naive when this does come into focus.
How may of you have googled Tom Muir, 1920 Young St, Toronto and then looked at the modus oprerandi of the first company with which he is associated (at the same address)?
And once again; a corporate search for the principles behing Corus Land Holding Corp show a Tom Muir, 1920 Young St as the man.

The naive ones are just starting to mention a "grain terminal" at Northgate. Anyone have any thoughts on why there are now at least 6 quarters of farmland in Corus's name and a full 60 acres of subdivided townsite lots; and "everyone of the residents" has been "moved out".

Wasn't it clear to anyone this isn't a simple grain elevator project.

I think its all about following the
      money.
1 purchase land and get people into
canada as Immigrants, Then bring not
      family but hundreds of workers.
      2. Learn our system from those that farm
      here.
      3. Build grain holding facilities with
cleaners to either ship containers or
      other means.
      4. Ship fertilizer and chem here by
      container.
      5. Fool the Canadian Govt.
Its not that far fetched. I think this
is all a huge scam by China to get a
guaranteed food supply. A few canadian
buisness people will make millions, a
few farmers will get paid to leave and
the rest of us will get the shaft. Say
good by to high prices boys you just
      gave them their free lunch!!!!!!!!!

A chinese guy here has bought up a bunch of land and is here learning to farm. He went to university in the states and is no dummy. He has money as is building new house and moving family in.Does not seem to be any hiden agenda. At least it appears this way to me.

Sorry SF3 but I'm not sure why their lunch was free?
Looks to me like they are buying land and will be
doing the work just like everyone else - what's the
problem with that? An infusion of farm families and
young people with ingenuity and work ethic is just
what's needed on the prairies in my opinion to
counter the existing aging farm population. Don't
worry about the communist label the Chinese people
          are capitalists through and through.

Having connections is an important aspect of success.

That is a difficult or next to impossible path to follow

If it ends up that the vast majority of production from
new Chinese Canadian farmers goes straight to
China; then SF3 made a valid poin; and it will be other
people who didn't grasp the point raised in advance
              by SF3 and others.

Honkatchewan instead of honkouver. Give them
a few of our beautiful winters and they will be
                    heading west my boy.

My cousin is high- end realtor in Vancouver.
Plain ordinary Chinese come to her and buy 3 or
                    4 x $3million apartments for cash - cold cash.
Where are they getting the money? Is the
                    exchange rate screwed up?

Many new Koreans in Regina around us. Not
scared to try different occupations from carpenter
to partsman to realtor, all in 4 years.

Funny if you start to connect the dots.
China a communist country where every day
                      people are expendable.
                      They have no rights.
So offer them a new life to save their family.
Educate them and send over seas to produce
                      food for the home land.
If you live under a communist rule you have only
one job like it or die.
What has landed local is the money man and his
                      slaves.
When something smells fishy it probably is.
When my grandfather left Germany something
didn't feel right. Yea a nice guy called hitler took
over. You either agreed with him or got a real
                      shitty job.
                      Something smells shitty.

Everything and everyone is for sale under Harper's government. Trade is ALL that matters. Security...forget it...we'll sell the whole shebang for TRADE.

You are getting what you voted for...a naive politician leading us down the garden path.

Why is this a problem? The history of western Canada has always been about immigrants? Why does "Chinese" bother you more thanGerman/Ukrainian/Swiss/Dutch, etc.?
There is always a buyer and a seller?

Maybe you should look into being a seller?

Where is the money coming from? Really?
Try walking thru Walmart and find
something that isn't made in china! Our
iron ore goes there because we are too
stupid to make iron ourselves. free
labour with little to no environmental
laws and its called pure profit. Sask
farmland went up 21% last year. Pretty
                            good considering the stock market.

SumDumGuy, you don't have to live in
Sask to have the land and put up with no
services or population. They live in
                            multi million dollar properties in
Calgary or Vancouver where its not the
                            boonies.

                            This is no brainer stuff.

SF3-Not sure what China you are referring to but people have choice as to where they work, what they do. That is the reason they are moving from the country into the city, to seek a better life. That is why there is a construction boom and commodities, steel, copper, etc are hot. Yes the government manages that consturction boom and has major influence in certain industries but it is a blend of GOvernment and private enterprise. This is not Cuba.

If you think you can tell the afluence of an individual by looking at them then i suspect you have missed a lot of opportunities in life. You couldn't tell an investor from a worker/labourer if you wanted to. What you dont know you make up or speculate.

I agree with the previous poster. Do you really think they can buy up all the land and end the grain markets in Canada. If that is the case, i bet domestic grain prices in Canada would go thru the roof and one would live happier ever after. I dont quite understand the distaste unless you are unhappy your didnt buy more land when you had the chance, at of course lower prices. Is this about your misread of land values??????
